I've been on my hols...

How bad am I with my bloggin...tut, tut. My summer has been so busy with our holiday down to Cornwall, days out, short breaks on the boat and generally having a lovely time making the most of the good weather, (oh and work inbetween *rolleyes*), that unfortunately I haven't done any crafting - not since July! So nothing to show on that front but hopefully I will have time to sit and create soon and I'm so sorry for leaving you for so long. I promise to be back into the swing of things real soon. Not to leave you with any eye candy, here's some photos of our lovely holiday in Cornwall and some of the Bournemouth Airshow from Saturday taken from our boat. Looking at the thousands on the beach I was so glad we were on the water. It was an amazing display and the highlights for me were the Bi-planes with the wingwalkers, the RAF parachutes and of course the Red Arrows. Loved the Chanook helicopter taking a bow and the Eurofighter - my gosh how fast is that?? In fact it was all brilliant!! Can't wait for next year.
View from our Cottage at Polruan over to Fowey.
My little Surfer Dude at Looe.

My MIL, hubs and 'The Dude'. View down the one and only (very steep) road into the Fishing Village towards the Quay. The Chanook taking a bow at the Airshow. The Bi-Planes with the Wing Walkers My very cool boys. The Red Arrows doing a cross-over. And all nine of them in perfect sync.

Tfl and see ya soon!

Say it with Flowers

My MIL's best friend has a special birthday to celebrate tomorrow. She's a lovely lady and I wanted to make something beautiful for such a wonderful person. Unfortunately my mojo seems to have hopped on a bus somewhere and all I could come up with was this very simple card using 'A Rose is a Rose'. Thank goodness for the perfect colour co-ordination of Stampin' Up right? If it weren't for that I probably would of bought a card....shame on me for thinking such a thing! lol
Tfl,

SWU 'Colour' Challenge

I'm very, very late with the Stamp With Us Challenge this week. Better late than never though. The inspiration was this lovely photo...

And the card I made was this...I can't seem to get any decent photos lately - this doesn't look anywhere near as good as it does in real life. The colours I used are Sahara Sand, Real Red, Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue and YoYo Yellow and the stamp set was my old faithful Simply Said.

I may have to invest in one of those little tents for my photos. Can anyone recommend?

Oh and thank you all for the suggestions for trying to find a Scooby Doo cake. I couldn't find one anywhere so Jake settled for Ben Ten. The party was a great success - even I enjoyed myself! As well as Jake's b'day on Monday it was my hubs b'day on Wednesday so it's been a busy week of celebrations.

There's been no crafting for me this week but I have lots of thank you notes and a 70th Birthday card to make over the weekend so hopefully I'll have something to show you next week.

Have a great weekend!

Something Special

Another Penny Black for you today. Whilst at Newbury I saw this very cute and adorable concertina card and thought I'd have a go at one myself. This is my effort....There are 2 more sides to this card (front & back) to make it extra special. These are the inside pages...

.... and this is the front... I haven't taken a picture of the back but basically it's the same as above with a blank panel to write a birthday message on. I've 3D'd the hedgehogs again and it was quite bulky when I finished. There was no way it would if fit into an envelope so I made a matching box with a silver elastic belly band with embelishment to go round the middle. It was fairly time consuming to make but it does look lovely. The colours are Pink Passion and Gable Green which go really well with these Doodlebug papers I picked up at the Newbury Show.

Busy day for me today - Jake finishes school at lunchtime and then it's all go for the party preparations on Sunday. We have a birthday cake to find so if anyone knows where I could get an 'off the shelf' Scooby Doo cake from (UK) I'd be very grateful!

Tfl & see ya soon!

Jo :)
