Once a Crafter, Always a Crafter

Sometimes life can take us down a different road and it can be a little more exciting than the usual one. And that's exactly what's happened with me over the last year actually. Some of you may know that as well as being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I've also become a Scentsy Consultant and I have a nice little business that runs parallel with Stampin' Up! Scentsy if you've not heard of it before are Wickless Warmers with wonderful Fragrance Waxes. Being a candle lover this has taken me and many, many more by storm but as this is my Creative Blog, I won't harp on about it but point you in the direction of where you can find out more information, and you know you can always email me too if you're interested. www.jodumbleton.scentsy.co.uk
So as the title says 'Once a Crafter, Always a Crafter', I am still being creative, just not as much on the internet as I have previously, and my Stampin' Up! business is still going strong too - there's no fear of me ever giving that up.
Right then, now I've got that out the way, how about some projects??
I shared this picture of some cute crackers I made with the NEW Envelope Punch Board on my Facebook Page at the weekend, aren't they adorable!
Now I'm just sorting and editing some better photos and I'll show them tomorrow along with the video I watched on how to make them. I'll also add the measurements for the size that I came up with, which is rather a handy size too.
So see you tomorrow for the details!

I'm back with a little Papillion Potpourri

What an AMAZING summer it's been! I've had a blast which started off back in July at the US Convention in Salt Lake City for 4 days, then onto the Incentive Trip for 5 absolutely fantastic days and then finally we extended our stay and went to Las Vegas for 3 days. The whole trip was an experience I will never forget. If you managed to follow my trip on Facebook you will have experienced some of it with me - especially the trip to Kanab which is the manufacturing plant of Stampin' Up! I was posting the whole process as we went along, and that was just a small part of the my awesome trip.

And the rest of my summer holiday with my family has been wonderful too. This good weather makes such a difference to our lives doesn't it?

OK,  so now Jake is back to school and I've had my first All Day Stamp-a-Stack Event of the new crafting year, I'm back to share some projects with you.

First card from yesterdays Stamp-a-Stack was using Patpillion Potpourri with the matching Elegant Butterfly Punch and Bitty Butterfly Punch. The greeting is stamped in the Encore Gold Inkpad from the NEW autumn/Winter catalogue along with a hint of the Gold Foil paper from the catalogue too. I can see metalics is going to be BIG this year. I'm chuffed about that - I love of a bit of bling.

So if you fancy grabbing this bundle with a 15% discount, you can purchase instantly from my NEW Online Store HERE. Use the HOSTESS CODE 64RJKDEW to be entered in the draw for the September Hostess Draw where you could WIN the Hostess Rewards from all the online orders placed through my Online Store. It's simple straight forward and the Discount will automatically  be applied to your order and shipped direct to you.

Of course you can add as much to your basket for a standard shipping price of just £4.95.

Ok, back tomorrow with another card from the Stamp-a-Stack.
See you then!

For this weeks class we've used STIPPLED BLOSSOMS Stamp Set

A few years back there was a set called 'A Rose is a Rose' which I really liked and then there was 'Baby Blossoms' - a miniature version of roses - another firm favourite which I've kept, so I'm pleased we have more roses in the current catalogue, and one that will be staying for the NEW too.

Love the effect of 2 step stamping which brings images to life, don't you?
All done with such a simple gadget called the Stamp-a-ma-jig!

101049 - £10.95

If you would like to purchase any of the items to make this card, please email me at

Punch Art Lion

I love a bit of punch art...do you?

A card from last weeks Technique Class...isn't he cute!

After the class I stamped 'DAD' underneath the greeting so my little lad could give it to his Daddy for Fathers Day - it was a thumbs up from Dad.

Fathers Day on THE OPEN SEA

Have you made your Fathers Day card for tomorrow?

My Dad and my hubs both like being on the sea (although not in a sailing boat) so THE OPEN SEA was apt enough for their cards.

The colour combo is - Sahara Sand, More Mustard, Gumball Green, Pool Party & Midnight Muse.

This one was one of 3 masculine cards made at last weeks card class - I'll show you the rest later in the week.

THE OPEN SEA has to be the most versatile set for masculine cards and the good news it's NOT on the Retirement List!

£23.95 for Wood Mount
£18.95 for Clear Mount

Stampin' Up! Wedding Card

I think it's about time I updated my blog, don't you think?

So, this weeks classes were on the theme of weddings. We're well into wedding season right now and one of my customers had requested making a wedding card but one that was bigger than the standard C6. It actually didn't take me long to design this particular one, you know how you sometimes get flashes of inspiration and you're off? That was me this week. We also made 2 smaller cards during the classes but I'll show you those over the next couple of days.

This particular card is A5 in size. Twice the size of normal cards and as we don't have large envelopes we also made our own using the Diagonal Plate.

I've been really into heat embossing over the last couple of classes - it never stops giving me that 'wow' factor as it melts. This time we used the Iridescent Embossing Powder which is a clear EP with glitter, and boy does it sparkle!

Although we were only using Whisper White and Basic Black, to make it sparkle and give it more of a luxury look I spritzed the whole card with Shimmer Mist made from mixing the Champagne Shimmer Paint with rubbing alcohol. The card now looks like it's been made with Shimmer Paper....gorgeous!

Even the inside of the card was finished off to make it an extra special card.

Product List
Everything Eleanor stamp set, p.112
You are Loved Stamp Set, p.24
Love & Laughter stamp set, p.38
Iridescent Embossing Powder, p. 159
Champagne Shimmer Paint, p. 158

I'll be back in the next few days to show you the other two wedding cards that were made during class.

If you would like to ask me a question please email me at jodumbleton@aol.co.uk or pop over to my facebook page and and check out the Photo Gallery. There you will see lots of inspiration, not just from me but also fans that share their creations on my page too.

Have a great day!

Easter Bunny Punch Art

It was the Monthly Technique Class last night and this morning. Three more Techniques were added to the list of many we've been doing over the last 6 months and much more to come too.
With Easter only 2 weeks away I thought we'd go for a bit of punch art. The bunnies were the same as the ones made a few years ago at one of my all day events. I've had a computer crash since then so I haven't got any photos of what we made but they were baskets to hold mini eggs, and very cute they were too. Anyway, I've taken the bunny and popped him on a card this time.
The NEW Clouds Embossing Folder from the Spring/Summer Catalogue is just perfect for this card.
Right, a flying visit from me today. It's my all day Stamp-a-Stack on Sunday and there's a full house so I need to get on and prep those kits.
I'll be setting the FRIDAY CHALLENGE on Facebook tonight at 7pm if you'd like to join in?
The rules are very simple, upload your card/project to my facebook page by Sunday evening and I will showcase them from 7pm. At 10pm I will pick a random name from my pop up bin for someone to receive a little gift.
We always have plenty of fabulous entries each week so please don't be shy, just use the theme for the Challenge and run with it.
Hope to see you there!

It's been quite a while since I last did some scrapbooking. Last weekend I spent with my crafting buddies on our 5th visit to Tincleton, it was the perfect opportunity to get stuck in.
It's my Mother-in-laws Birthday tomorrow and she loves receiving scrapbook pages as a gift. She has a large 12x12 frame on her wall that we bought her a few years back so each birthday etc. all I now need to do is a layout for her and she's over the moon!
I love all things with hearts on so I was drawn to the More, Amore Suite in the Spring/Summer Catalogue and the colours are so lovely - Pool Party, Primrose Petal & Crumb Cake.
This wasn't how the page was planned in my head, the banners were an after thought which came to me whilst shuffling the papers around - I'm sure I've seen something similar somewhere.
I'm a bit rusty at the old scrapbooking but I'm pleased how it turned out, and I'm sure my MIL will love it.
Don't forget you can find me on Facebook at
Get to know me and interact with other fans on the page with the FRIDAY CHALLENGE.
PLUS there's more inspiring projects, offers and get to hear of all the current offers available - like my page and say 'Hi'.
Hope to see you there!

Have you got snow today? Living on the very south coast of the UK we don't get very much snow at all. In fact we I get very excited when we do but it does bring us all to a bit of a standstill. I've another card from the bereavement class to show today.
So simple in design and colours.

Facebook Stamp Sale
See you there!

Happy New Year from the missing person!
I know, it's been almost 3 months since I updated. Long story but the short of it was I was working hard, then got ill, then working hard again, then got ill again, and right at the very end, Christmas happened.
So here we are, 2013 has arrived!
This year is the 25th Anniversary for Stampin' Up! so there'll be lots of celebrating going on over the months including more FREE stuff, more promotions and loads more NEW PRODUCTS!
Now I'm not making any promises to how often I will be posting on my blog, I'll be taking everything day by day, but this year I'm making changes with my business and most importantly my family are going to come a little higher on my list, as well as my health. I'm sure you will all understand but don't worry, I am still around and I will still be posting projects.
My classes are also going very strong and although I may not get chance to upload everything here, you can always find me on Facebook and more than likely the projects I've created for them. It's not intentional to move to facebook, it's purely a time thing which can be done in an instant and I lack time every day so this is an alternative for the days I'm not blogging - which could be quite a few.
So, if you want to check out and 'like' my Facebook Business page and be up to date with things that are happening in an instant, projects I've created, new classes I've added, then you can find me at..
Tomorrow evening I start my own JANUARY SALE of Retired Stamp sets, I've boxes of them! It's only on Facebook though so if you fancy a bargain, pop on over and 'like' my page. The sale will be going on over the next week or so, so don't panic if you can't make it tomorrow, there will be quite a lot to list and it will go on in stages plus I'll give you an indication of what time 'ish each night they'll start appearing.
Hope to see you over there!
