How about this...
Last Thurs Jane came over (armed with chocolate chip cookies) to have a go at some brayering. Jane is another Demonstrator local to me and she'd seen my little Pocket Silhouette cards here and asked if I'd show her how I did them. Now I'm far from being an expert on brayering but after watching the experts like Barbara Gray and Michelle Zindorf I've had a go and been pleased with the results. After all what can go wrong... another bit of cardstock in the recycling bin? Well it didn't take long for Jane to be up and running with that brayer, and then yesterday Mr Postie brought me a card in the post. Look what I was sent.....

Brayered Pocket Silhouettes
Brayering is something we all seem to shy away from even though the effect is quite stunning and easily achieved once you take the plunge. I've only recently been introduced to brayering and although I don't do it often, when I do I'm always pleased with the outcome.
These little 4"x4" easel cards are so adorable and having made them in monochromatic shades it just goes to show, you don't need lots of different colours when it comes to brayering.
The brayer I used is one that Stampin'Up! sells (the best of course) the Speedball roller. If you've ever seen the Queen of brayering, Barbara Gray on the well known craft shopping channel it's the same size and make as she uses and the Stampin'Up! one is a fraction of the price too - £8.95...bargain! I shall be demoing brayering at a workshop in the next few weeks and if you'd like to see how I made these I'm more than happy to come and show you how it's achieved with a home workshop - I don't bite honest.
So it's the last day of Sale-a-bration today, I hope you've all managed to get yourself one or all of the fabulous FREE sets that have been on offer over the last 2 months. It's a shame we can't have FREE ones all the time but then again if you host a home workshop you can! If you fancy some freebies and you're debating whether to have a party, please email me at jodumbleton@aol.co.uk and I will happily 'talk' you through what happens and what you can earn. There's no pressure to have one and if you'd prefer to have a little taster, I have classes and Open House events planned that you'd be more than welcome to attend.

Medallion Sun
Some of you might recognise this card..... 
Whilst I was searching for tutorials on how to brayer last week I came across a very talented lady who's cards are absolute masterpieces - Michelle Zindorf. I think it was through browsing the Splitcoast gallery that I spotted her cards and the rest is history as they say. The Medallion Sunset really stood out for me and because Michelle gives such clear instructions on how to do it, it was easy. You can see the tutorial here.
My tree was taken from Lovely as a Tree but the colours are the same, they're so rich and because the tree and medallion are embossed, it has a real lushness about it.
So there you go, inspired by some beautiful cards and from beginner to novice in a week.
Hope you like my brayered cards and if you have a go yourself, please let me know - I'd love to see.

More Brayering
I'm really loving this brayering and it's so out my comfort zone with all the inky fingers and messy grid paper, but the finished result is quite remarkable. This is one I made last night...
For this I've used Pocket Silhouettes and the background on the main part of the card is the new Medallion Stamp which I've clear embossed. You can't tell from this photo but I've sprayed the whole card with Copper Glimmer Mist to give it a shimmery pearlescent look. With the Chocolate Chip it's gorgeous.
I have another brayer card to show tomorrow which is a total CASE but it shows you how easy it is. I've never used one until this week and look what can be done - have a go, it's fab!
