Card Candy
I signed up for two swaps in the run up to Convention, both being Card Candy. At the time I thought 'oh yer that should be fun' but OMGosh it was soooo hard! We had to make six pieces of card candy (toppers) using a stamp set of our choice. I really struggled with this and have had many attempts at trying to come up with something. Last weekend I had a mad panic that I wasn't going to get them done in time so I spent hours doing them. And here's the results.
First one is using the Mr & Mrs set...
And the second is Darling Dots (Hostess Level 1). This is my fave actually - love that Jumbo paper clip!

Room Buddies
My Room Buddy for Convention and travelling companion is the lovely Jenny Moors. I'm sure you know how wonderful her creations are and I'm the lucky one that only lives five miles from her. Anyway, I wanted to make something special for Jen for putting up with me while we're away and of course I had to make something. I bought some lovely smellies which came in a box. The box wasn't too bad but as a true crafter I had to ditch the packaging and make my own...lol!
It's quite a big box this one and I used the Bella Toile background stamp in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla for the box sides. A thick window sheet was added to the inside of the lid and the flowers were made with the five petal punch along with some Cafe Latte Buttons....oh and that gorgeous black wide striped ribbon. Honestly it's to die for, so soft and easy to tie bows. The gold elastic thread was used to tie everything together.
Also I decorated this heart shaped window tin which has some Ferrero Roche in. After all you can't give a gift to another female without there being chocolate can you?!?!?!

Convention 2009!
Today I'm off to Frankfurt, Germany for the very first European Stampin' Up! Convention. I'm a little anxious as I haven't flown in seven years or been out the country without hubs in that time either, but once I get there I know I'm going to have a fab time and I can't wait to meet so many talented and lovely Demo's that I've got to know over t'internet. It's going to be fun, fun, FUN!
So while I'm away I've scheduled some posts (I hope) of swaps that I've made. I didn't get chance to do as many as I'd liked but I'm pleased with what I have done.
I don't want to give too much away today and spoil the surprise for anyone that is going later, so here's a sneaky peak of something I've made that's coming with me - just to wet your appetite.
Right, must get some sleep now.
See ya soon!

Christmas Countdown
We're into November now so it definately countdown to Christmas and that's the theme for this weeks Stamp With Us Challenge.
I cheated a little as I'd already made this gift set using Tree Trimmings. It's a concertina box with 4 matching cards. The colours aren't exactly traditional being Lavender Lace, Whisper White and Basic Black but they're just as lovely and with an added bit of Dazzling Diamonds it's perfect.
