Bordering on Romance

Do you remember the Retreat I did back in May? Here's one of the projects I've at long last got round to photographing. It's a pretty A6 tin decorated in the Twitterpated Designer Papers and using the Bordering on Romance stamp set.
If you like to colour, then this set is for you.

When the belly band is removed there's a pretty design underneath.
And inside there's 3 little notecards with stamped envelopes
I love to colour using my blender pens which are great because you can use them on Whisper White cardstock and with our matching inkpads. There are a few rules to using the blender pens so you get the best coverage without the paper fluffing up - light pressure and circular colouring on small areas reloading your pen often and I always stamp the main image in Basic Gray. Black is just too harsh I think. Stampin' Up!'s Basic Grey inkpad is spot on too as it dries real quick and doesn't seem to bleed when using the blender pen.
With just a little piece of the Pleated Satin Ribbon and a few rhinestones, this is a perfect little notecard set to give as a gift.

Bordering on Romance and the Pleated Satin Ribbon is also in the Summer Mini ending 31st August.

Bordering on Romance in Wood Mount    125480     £24.95
Bordering on Romance in Clear Mount     125482     £19.95
Pleated Satin in 5 Colours £5.95 per roll

Goodbye Summer Mini

We’re into the last few days of ordering from the Summer Mini so if there’s anything you’ve been umming and ahhing about, now’s the time to order. You can click on the above link to take you to the pdf if you haven’t got you own hard copy.

I have to say my favourite was the Mixed Bunch stamp set with matching Blossom Punch. So versatile and we all love a matching punch don’t we?!

This card was CaSE’d from Teri Pocock. Teri had this on show when we were exhibiting at the Newbury Artstamps Show back in July. I fell in love with this and was blown away at how detailed and beautiful the image became when heat embossed with white embossing powder. It’s absolutely stunning don’t you think?
I loved this class too from back in May...

And this was the class at the Newbury Artstamps Show.
The Summer Mini ends on Friday 31st August, order it while you can!

Stampin' Up! Wheels

It's my husbands godaughters wedding day today. I don't know what the colour scheme for her wedding is so I chose Blushing Bride for her card, a lovely dusty pink perfect for her as she's very girly. Shame it will be retiring at the end of September.

I wanted to keep the card quite simple so went with the Decor standard wheel - very elegant.
I think I got the balance right don't you?

Here's a similar one I've been demonstrating at workshops recently, in Old Olive & Elegant Eggplant.
Very quick and very simple!
This wheel is perfect for weddings invites if you're on a budget and thinking of making your own. Especially when you've got to make a whole batch of them along with co-ordinating order of service, thank you cards etc. I've never actually done a wedding commission but if I did then this wheel would be the one I'd go for.

If you'd like a workshop or private class on wheels and how to get the most out of them, drop me an email at jodumbleton@aol.co.uk to arrange a date. They're fantastic!

Aviary and Nursery Nest

More cards from classes held this time in June to show you today.

'Aviary' is a set I've been drawn to quite a few times recently. They match the Nursery Nest papers, which aren't necessarily new baby papers, and this is what I came up with.

This first card is my first time at making a stepper card. The card itself is A5 in size so fits in a standard envelope no problem, although they can be made to all sorts of sizes too. I'll be making more of these stepper cards, they're so easy to make once you've grasped the concept of how they fold.

If you'd like a quickie tutorial/template, leave a comment below and I'll see what I can russle up.

This last card also uses the flower branch from 'Hopeful Thoughts'.

Colour Combo:-
Blushing Bride
Pear Pizazz
Perfect Plum
Marina Mist

Right, another flying visit. I'm currently organising my next All Day Event on 9th September.

Christmas is Coming!

More details coming very soon.....

The Open Sea

Back in May I did a class using 'The Open Sea'. Masculine cards are always a difficult one but when you've got the right set, like this one, it makes life so much easier.

We made a little tag pocket too which is just perfect to pop in a gift card.

The colour combo for these cards is Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Cherry Cobbler and Bashful Blue.

'The Open Sea' is in the current Summer Mini catalogue which ends on the 31st August.

Priced at £23.95 for wood mount & £18.95 for clear mount.

Reason to Smile

Ok, don't fall off your chair...yes it's me again with another post inside 24 hours. Get me!

Just a quickie to let you know about the August Promotion from Stampin' Up! and share a few cards.
This month there's an exclusive stamp set called 'Reason to Smile' available to everyone.
There's 2 ways which you can obtain this stamp set.

FREE with a £60 Order
or
you can purchase it in Clear or Wood.

At the end of last week I held a Stamp-a-Stack event and many of my customers took advantage of this pretty set. It's a 2 step Stamp Set but I really like using it with my Stampin' Write Markers and have made lots of Thank You cards for my customers.
This one is in Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake.
And this one is in Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Crumb Cake.

I've done quite a few colour combos but most of them have been sent out and I didn't get chance to take photos but they're basically the same design which is really quick and very simple to make. Loved making these and I was on a roll the other night so just kept going.

I've lots more cards to show you - I'm spoilt for choice!

See ya soon and if you'd like to place an order you know where I am.
I'll send you a handmade card too.

Vienna update

Yes I'm still here. Just been very busy over the last few months and unfortunately blog life has taken a bit of a back seat.

Anyway, I've loads of things to share and whilst the Vienna Trip was almost 2 months ago (where has the time gone?!?!) I'll be continuing the trip with lots of photos here. As I add a new post on the Vienna Page I'll let you know that I've done it so if you wish to follow the adventure you can do. That way I can start posting a few more cards etc. I've been making over the past few months without interupting the flow.

Now September is going to be a very busy month for me. It's jam packed with my fortnightly classes restarting on the 3rd & 4th, 17th & 18th a new monthly Technique Class on the 13th & 14th, my Christmas is Coming All Day Event on the 12th plus workshops and a few days away. Will I have time for anything else?? I'm sure I will - I love a challenge. PLUS there's a very exciting new Autumn/Winter Catalogue you'll be able to purchase from as of 1st September amongst other things. I wrote my own wishlist from it the other day and found it came to £430...gulp! Thank goodness I get a discount! Anyway, more details of that to follow but if you find your wishlist to be a on the LARGE size, it might be a good idea to consider getting the Starter Kit for £99 (£130 worth of product plus you get the business pack worth £45) and start receiving a discount on all your future purchases. It is so worth it! If you want to have an informal chat about how you can benefit from your Stampin' Up! purchases please give me a call on 01202 880929 or email jodumbleton@aol.co.uk.

So, for now here's a bit more on the Vienna Trip with Day #2 Part 2.

See ya soon!
